A Manchester United fan believes that the Old Trafford club should “break the bank” to sign Rangers manager and Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard for their next boss.
Pressure is ramping up behind current United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjær with the Red Devils languishing in 15th place in the Premier League following a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.
Calling into talkSPORT, disgruntled United fan Brett claimed that Gerrard has an “identity” to his game lacking at Old Trafford and that a move for the ex-England captain is a “no-brainer”.
“This is in contention for ‘head’s gone’ but I’d break the bank and go for Steven Gerrard to replace Ole,” said the fan.
“Money talks, the guy has absolutely got an identity of how he wants to play, he can motivate players, it’s a no-brainer.”
Given that Steven Gerrard is a Liverpool legend there is next to no-chance that he would take charge of their biggest rivals Manchester United.
The ex-Anfield midfielder, 40, spent 17 seasons playing for Liverpool, playing over 700 times and becoming synonymous with the club he loves.
Not to mention the fact he’s focused on the job at Rangers and has consistently reiterated that he isn’t interested in moving elsewhere.
The suggestion did manage to earn Manchester United fan Brett the title Numpty of the Week from Rangers legend Ally McCoist, who said “never mind Liverpool, just leave him alone” at Rangers.
