Rangers boss Steven Gerrard may well have consistently reiterated his commitment to Ibrox but that hasn’t stopped the manager being linked with a host of different roles.
One of these positions is the soon-to-be vacant managerial job at Premier League Crystal Palace with ex-England manager Roy Hodgson officially leaving the club at the end of the season.
Hodgson, 73, is a boyhood Eagles fan and steps down at Selhurst Park after four years in the job and following an illustrious managerial career which has taken him all over the world.
A former manager of Steven Gerrard’s during the Englishman’s time with the Three Lions, reports in the press have previously linked the Rangers manager with the role.
The Go Radio Football Show claimed back in March that Gerrard was on a shortlist to replace Hodgson but any fans worrying about them reigniting their interest need not fear.
Former Gerrard rival Frank Lampard is reportedly in talks to replace Hodgson after the former Chelsea midfielder was sacked by Chelsea earlier in the season [talkSPORT].
Gerrard once again talked up the impact Rangers have had on him as he talked after finally lifting the club’s 55th title over the weekend.
The Gers gaffer also claims that he wanted this trophy win to be “the first of many”.
“It’s right up there [with my career achievements], because I love winning,” said Gerrard [Sky Sports].
“That is my drive, that is my buzz, that is what I get out of bed for in the morning. My family will always be number one in my life, football will be number two.
“I have still got drive and hunger to achieve more. This is the first one, I hope it is the first of many.”
Former Gerrard teammate Peter Crouch has also been talking about links to another Premier League club and gave his verdict on all the exit talk.
