Rangers were interested in appointing Peter Bosz last year and he is now working wonders with PSV Eindhoven.
Rangers are back in the hunt for a manager having decided to sack Michael Beale on Sunday night.
The Gers have pulled the plug on Beale’s Ibrox return less than a year since landing him from Queens Park Rangers.
The search is on for Beale’s replacement but some will wonder how he landed the job ahead of other managers last year…
Rangers wanted Peter Bosz
Rangers clearly felt that Beale’s prior knowledge of the club would help him at Ibrox.
Beale had served as an assistant to Steven Gerrard and they managed to win a league title together in 2021.
Beale followed Gerrard to Aston Villa and then became QPR boss before heading back to Rangers.
This was always a gamble from Rangers given Beale’s lack of managerial experience, especially with more proven options in the mix.
The Scottish Daily Express reported that Rangers had Peter Bosz high on the wish list to replace Giovanni van Bronckhorst in 2022.
Bosz had left Lyon just a month earlier and had seemingly been identified as somebody who could replace Van Bronckhorst.
Rangers ended up going for Beale and saw Bosz dismantle his Gers side in the Champions League play-offs in August.

Bosz working wonders at PSV Eindhoven after Rangers rumours
Rangers may well wish that Bosz was in charge given the job he is now doing at PSV.
The Dutchman replaced Ruud van Nistelrooy as PSV boss over the summer after they finished seven points behind title winners Feyenoord.
Bosz and PSV now sit top of the Eredivisie table and have won every league game so far this season.
Seven wins from seven, 23 goals scored, only twice conceded; PSV are on fire at the start of this campaign.
Bosz is no doubt out of reach for Rangers right now, but the Gers simply have to find a manager who can make this kind of impact to replace Beale.
