Rangers have struck a deal that will see Man United legend Paul Scholes turn out at the Weekend of Legends – with once Ibrox-linked Jack Wilshere set to join him.
The Gers are hosting a special Weekend of Legends match in March 2023 following the wonderful success of last season’s special 150th friendly between a team of Rangers Legends and a Legends XI.

Back then the likes of Paul Gascoigne, Ronald de Boer and Giovanni van Bronckhorst joined the Rangers XI whilst Luis Figo, Kaka and Gheorghe Hagi headlined for the Legends XI.
And this year’s Weekend of Legends II is already promising to live up to its predecessor as Rangers announce yet more players who’re set to take part.
The likes of Robin van Persie, Robbie Fowler, Jaap Staam, Joe Cole and Michel Essien had already been announced but now they’re set to be joined by Paul Scholes and Jack Wilshere.
Paul Scholes added to squad for Rangers Weekend of Legends clash
Man United legend Paul Scholes is widely regarded as one of the best midfielder’s of his generation and the now 48-year-old is one of the most decorated players in British footballing history.
Playing over 700 times for Man United, Scholes is a bonafide English footballing legend and Rangers fans will be excited to have him on board.
Jack Wilshere is another name Rangers fans will be familiar with after a career interrupted by injury but which promised so much at Arsenal and with the England national team.
Once regarded as the brightest midfield talent in the game, Rangers were even heavily linked with the player in the twilight of his career two seasons ago.
Both players will be sure to add to the occasion and we’re sure there will be more names to be announced in the days and weeks ahead.
