Rangers missed out on Malik Tillman but the midfielder is going through some problems with new club PSV Eindhoven.
The Gers swooped to sign Malik Tillman on loan from Bayern Munich in 2022, securing an option to buy him too.
Tillman hit 12 goals in 43 games for Rangers last season but not everybody was completely convinced by him.
The 21-year-old divided opinion and some didn’t believe that splashing the cash on him was such a good idea.
In the end, Rangers had that option taken away as Bayern got involved…
How Rangers missed out on Malik Tillman
The original agreement was that Rangers had an option to buy for £5.8million with Bayern then having the chance to buy him back for £9million.
Bayern cancelled Rangers’ purchase option on Tillman, paying the Gers £1million in compensation plus a sell-on clause as part of that arrangement.
Rangers then saw Tillman move elsewhere – but not in a permanent move.
Tillman joined PSV Eindhoven on loan with an option to buy at around €14million (£12million), much more than Rangers had agreed to pay.

Tillman hits a problem at PSV Eindhoven
As things stand, it’s hard to imagine PSV activating that purchase option.
The American has only played 18 minutes in the Eredivisie this season, but did manage to score a goal in his solitary league appearance.
PSV hammered Almere City 4-0 on Saturday but Tillman wasn’t even on the bench.
Peter Bosz has now opened up on that decision, telling Goal that Tillman ‘overslept’ and was late to report for the game.
Bosz noted that Tillman wanted to still be involved but he was ‘no longer necessary’ in a rather embarrassing turn of events.
“He overslept, so I left him at home… He wanted to come, but it was no longer necessary. He’ll report to training tomorrow,” said Bosz.
Bosz seems happy to bring Tillman back into the plans moving forward, but he has a lot of work to do in order to convince PSV to pay up.
