Former Rangers captain Lorenzo Amoruso is set to return to Glasgow for a special speaker’s event in a fortnights time.
The Italian hero was at Rangers for six years, racking up over 200 appearances and nine trophies. He also won SPFA Player’s Player of the Year award for 01/02. He’ll be live and in person on Friday 23rd November at Nacho Novo’s bar NN10.

The big centre back was a giant for Rangers. A formidable force in the air and at the back, he was a top quality asset to the club for years. He also took a mean free kick.
It’s a great chance to hear the story of the man who famously turned down Manchester United to sign for Rangers.
Lorenzo Amoruso a part of Rangers history
It’s hard to dispute the impact Amo had the club. Signed for £4m in the summer of 1997, he was also very highly rated in the Serie A. He had his ups and downs, but you can’t dispute his loyalty and performances.
Twenty years ago he was presented with a choice between Walter Smith’s Rangers and Sir Alex Ferguson’s Manchester United. But for Lorenzo, there was only really one option.
He told Inside Sport: “If I could go back 20 years and be put in that same situation again, then I would make the same choice.
“I wanted to play in the Champions League against the best players and in those days, only one club from each country was in the competition.
“Rangers offered me that chance and Walter Smith and David Murray made me feel wanted.

“Man United did want me too. They made a call and of course, it was very tempting to go there.
“It was very flattering when they were interested but I had made my mind up to go to Scotland.
“I gave Rangers my word and signed the deal. It was a long time ago but I have never regretted that decision.”
In a fitting send off, the big man completed a treble with Rangers in 02/03 before heading to Blackburn. He scored the winner in the Scottish Cup final against Dundee in a 1-0 win to lift the trophy in his final game. He also famously burst into tears doing so.
Tickets for the night are available from NN10 and you can get in touch with them via their Facebook page.
