Belgian media are reporting that Genk are not interested in a loan deal for reported Rangers target Patrik Hrošovský and want to recoup at least €4m (£3.5m) for the player.
Rangers were linked to the attacking Slovakian midfielder by iSport.cz who claimed the Gers were very interested in a loan-to-buy deal for the 28-year-old midfielder.
A former Viktoria Plzen captain, Hrošovský is perhaps viewed as that influential creative midfielder who adds power and dynamism to the Ibrox club’s oftentimes stagnant midfield.
However – whilst the Czech report suggested Genk would prefer to sell the player – the Belgian report claims the Belgian won’t budge in their valuation of the midfielder.
Belgian football site Walfoot are claiming that Het Belang Van Limburg report Genk are adamant they want to sell the player.
They also claim that no offer has been made yet but the Belgians want a bid of €4m to bring the player to Scotland.
Hrošovský joined Genk last season for a reported €6m but it has not happened for the player in Belgium and the midfielder looks set to leave the club in this window.
German manager Hannes Wolf joined the Belgian side in November with the Walfoot report claiming he has instead opted towards young players like Luca Oyen, Elias Sierra or Pierre Dwomoh.
