Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard is reportedly in discussions over a loan move to Ligue 1 Nice in a move which should surely spell the end of reports linking him with Rangers.

The 28-year-old attacking midfielder finds himself on the fringes of the Red Devils’ squad with United currently sitting top of the English Premier League.

According to the Daily Mail, the midfielder’s representatives are holding talks with Nice over a move as he looks to get more game time this season.

As it stands, Lingard has only made three appearances for United despite making over 200 before this season.

A report in TEAMtalk linked both Rangers and Celtic to the player ahead of the January transfer window with both clubs said to be considering a loan.

With Lingard’s contract up at the end of the season, there was also talk of the player signing a new deal at Old Trafford.

But whatever the case Lingard looks like he could be heading to France in a move which would formally put an end to any notion Rangers would move for the player.

Jesse Lingard might have heaps of Premier League experience but you’ll be hard-pressed to find a Rangers fan who thinks the player could help take us to the next level.

There have been plenty of names linked to Rangers this January with one in particular being confirmed in the press this week.
