Rangers’ Europa League tie with Leverkusen has been pushed back to July at the earliest as UEFA endeavour to finish continental club competition.
The Ibrox side currently trails Leverkusen 3-1 from the first leg of their Europa League last 16 tie with the German outfit.
But following the enforced footballing shutdown UEFA were forced to suspend the competition and the Champions League “until further notice” as the impact of the pandemic continues to be felt across Europe.

According Glasgow Live, matches in the elite European competitions are unlikely to be played until July at the earliest.
Multiple reports are also suggesting European football’s governing body is considering a special, truncated version of the tournaments so as to avoid fixture congestion [the Times].
UEFA made the announcement after a meeting with secretaries of all 55 UEFA member associations who they’ve been keeping updated throughout the process.
The governing body, like member associations, remain determined to see matches played but football is slowly waking up to the realisation that this might not be possible this season.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin has said the season would “probably be lost” [La Repubblica] if clubs couldn’t restart their league campaigns by the end of June.
Ceferin’s vice-president Michele Uva also revealed that what happens with cancelled campaigns will be in the hands of respective member associations [Scottish Sun].
