Bayer Leverkusen star Kai Havertz broke a Bundesliga record on Saturday afternoon as his side warmed up for a trip to Rangers with a thumping 4-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
The German club will jet off to Glasgow in the coming days ahead of the first leg of their Europa League Last 16 tie against the Gers, but they certainly weren’t in energy-saving mode at the BayArena.

Havertz has already been picked out as the opposition’s dangerman ahead of the Ibrox meeting, and he showed just why he’s so highly rated in this one.
With just four minutes on the clock, he opened the scoring by finishing on the stretch after being picked out by Moussa Diaby.
It was a sign of things to come for Frankfurt, who despite also making it to the Europa League Last 16, were thoroughly outclassed.
Another German international, Karim Bellarabi, doubled the lead in the 14th minute and Bayer were cruising.

The score remained the same until early in the second half when Paulinho scored a quickfire double to make it four.
Despite a concerning injury to defender Sven Bender, Leverkusen kept a clean sheet as their remarkable form continues. They now have eight consecutive home wins in all competitions.
Undoubtedly the most impressive stat of the day went to 20-year-old Havertz, though, who with his early goal became the youngest player in Bundesliga history to rack up 30 goals.
The strike also took him to 50 direct goal contributions, a tally he added to in the second half with an assist for Paulihno’s first.
It’s a remarkable achievement at his age, and followers of the Leverkusen account were blown away.
