Rangers fans may now see former defender Russell Martin succeed Brendan Rodgers as permanent Leicester City boss.
Gers supporters will remember Martin’s brief time at Ibrox.
Graeme Murty pounced to sign Martin on loan in January 2018 having coached the Scot at Norwich City.
Martin was born in England but bagged 29 caps for Scotland and made his first move to Scottish football by joining Rangers.
The defender was 32 at the time and ultimately coming to the end of his career.
Martin did still make 15 appearances for Rangers before moving on to Walsall and Milton Keynes Dons.
Now 37, Martin has become an impressive manager, first with MK Dons and now Swansea City.
There were even 2021 claims from The Mirror that Rangers fancied Martin as a replacement for Steven Gerrard.
That didn’t happen, but Rangers fans could now see Martin make a big move.

Leicester City want ex-Rangers defender Russell Martin
The Sun report that Leicester City are now showing a real interest in appointing Martin.
The Foxes sacked former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers in April.
Dean Smith is in as an interim manager but Leicester now seemingly want Martin as their new permanent boss.
It’s even stated that Martin is viewed as the ‘next Brendan Rodgers’ having pushed a superb brand of football at Swansea.
Leicester still aren’t safe from relegation but may well think they can land Martin whether they stay up or go down.
Rangers may have one eye on Martin’s progress as a manager just in case things with Michael Beale don’t work out.
Seeing Martin head to Leicester as a Rodgers replacement would be fascinating though and Gers fans will surely keep tabs on his future.
