Rangers fans have been locked out of Ibrox since March this year but around one-year on from Bayer Leverkusen, could we see the iconic stadium packed once again?
Scottish health secretary Jeanne Freeman claimed that one million Scots – around a fifth of the population – will be vaccinated by January 2021.
Speaking in a statement to the Scottish Parliament, Ms Freeman also claimed that everyone in Scotland over the age of 18 will be offered by a vaccine by the spring of the same year [Scotsman].
The health secretary claims that the aim of the programme is to vaccinate everyone by the spring with the first groups targeted being those most at risk from the deadly virus.
This includes frontline NHS workers, care home staff, unpaid carers, those over 80 and those delivering the vaccine programme, with delivery led by NHS health boards.
Those affected by the first wave of vaccines will be contacted in the coming weeks and months.
That would suggest that anyone who is vaccinated would – and this is purely speculative at this point – be passed as safe enough to return to Rangers’ spiritual home.
Fans flocked in their thousands to sell out the club’s season tickets for the third year running despite there being no guarantee they’d see a match this season.
As the months have gone on in 2020 – and the country is wedged further into lockdown – fans have begun to come to the realisation that it’s unlikely we’ll be back in Ibrox in 2020.
But with Rangers going well in the league and the club on the road to victory this season – imagine if we we’re all back in Ibrox for a title run-in?
