During Friday afternoon’s press conference, Steven Gerrard gave an injury update, as quoted by the Rangers Twitter account.
He revealed that both Scott Arfield and Andy Halliday are doubtful to face Aberdeen.
The loss of the former would be a considerable blow to the Gers’ plans in the final third.
The latter, Halliday, is still struggling with a tight groin.
He wasn’t fit to make the squad for the midweek win over Dundee and now, it looks as though his absence my continue.

In that case, Borna Barisic should start at left-back.
The Croatian summer signing has struggled to regain to his early season form, since returning from injury after the winter break.
In the meantime, Halliday has been mounting a genuine challenge to be first choice.
Whenever called upon, he has been solid defensively, and his beginning to add goals to his game.
That’s something Barisic hasn’t managed to do, as yet.
He came agonisingly close during the week, but he’s still without a goal in Rangers colours.

Of course, as a full-back, that isn’t his primary function.
However, when you compare his numbers with the likes of James Tavernier, they fall well short.
Delivery has room for improvement
His crossing was identified as excellent during his first weeks at the club. Yet, from 14 league appearances, he has just two assists to his name.

There were glimpses against Dundee, that the ex-Osijek man is gaining in confidence.
The lingering doubts over his competition all but guarantees him a starting berth again, on Sunday.
He’ll need to be at his best at both ends of the pitch, though, if he’s going to help contribute to an all important Rangers victory.
