Late Alfredo Morelos sale could be biggest challenge to Rangers title tilt

The ongoing talk surrounding Alfredo Morelos’ future is something which has Rangers boss Steven Gerrard especially frustrated as Rangers prepare for a title tilt.
Speaking after the friendly win over Derby, the Liverpool legend was audibly annoyed at the continuing questions over the Colombian.
But there is little doubt that losing the Colombian too late in the transfer window to replace him is Rangers’ biggest fear going into the new season.

If you lose Morelos, you lost 30-40 goals a season. Whilst one player does not make a team, replacing that influence is a mighty task for the club’s recruitment team.

Especially if there is virtually no time to replace him.
Rangers can take some solace in the fact the English Premier League and Championship transfer windows are set to close up in little over a week (8th August, 5 pm).
Given Rangers’ close to £20m price tag for the player, the riches of the English Premier League at first glance appear the most likely to take a punt on Alfredo.
But there is also reported interest from the likes of German club Eintracht Frankfurt [Daily Record] and Italian legends
AC Milan [the Herald].
Steven Gerrard has previously said that if anyone wants Alfredo Morelos they can expect to pay and that they better let him know earlier in the transfer window.

But money talks in football, and with the club closer to realistically challenging for the league title than they have been for close to a decade, it could be a deciding factor in the Rangers’ league campaign.
Losing Alfredo Morelos is the biggest fear for the club, coaching staff and fans going into the new Scottish Premiership season.
