Former Rangers manager Steven Gerrard isn’t having the best of times at Aston Villa at the moment following an encouraging start to his Premier League managerial career, and this may spell bad news for the Ibrox side.
Having won three of his first five matches, with defeats to Liverpool and Manchester City expected, it hasn’t exactly gone to plan for Gerrard.

Only two wins from the subsequent eight matches have followed and it’s clear Villa are lacking some midfield bite and stability, something that Gers star Glen Kamara has in abundance and the Englishman knows all about his talents.
Steven Gerrard could make move for Rangers Glen Kamara in the summer window
Kamara was linked with the Premier League side [ScottishSun] ever since Gerrard took the job and although he has committed his future to the Ibrox side until 2025, it may prove tough to keep him if a high bid comes in.
It was reported that Villa was after Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma in January [Scotsman], yet the interest didn’t materialise which means Gerrard could be eying up the Finnish star.
Kamara has been excellent for Rangers since joining in January 2019 from Dundee for only £50,000 in what has been one of the Ibrox sides finest transfers in recent years.
Although Villa managed to secure the services of Phillipe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona, who has provided a major attacking threat, they have conceded 12 goals in their previous seven matches.
With the recent sale of Nathan Patterson to Everton for a fee reaching £16m, it proves that Rangers won’t allow clubs to penny-pinch their major assets anymore.
If Gerrard wants the 26-year-old to bolster his midfield options, then he will be expected to pay a high fee as Rangers aim to follow Celtic’s lead in maximising profits from player sales.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst may face an interesting summer transfer window ahead.
