Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd is showing no signs of letting up after being struck by a coin on the right arm by a Celtic fan at Rugby Park yesterday.
And the now Kilmarnock player even had time to have a bit of banter about the entire thing.
Posting on his Instagram account, Boyd put up a picture of himself with his arm in a sling. He then goes on to say he’ll be “50-50” for Wednesday’s game for Rangers. At least he’s taking the whole thing in his stride.
Boyd was left outraged after the incident yesterday. It wasn’t just the coin toss either.
Kris Boyd criticises Celtic support
Groups of Celtic fans peppered the striker with abhorrent sectarian abuse and Boyd has endeavoured to speak out on the incident.

In a post on his Instagram directly after the match Boyd spoke about the religiously motivated attack. That’s despite the striker says he can take a bit of banter and singing. But Boyd also suggests other unnamed people take it as sectarianism when the shoe is on the other foot.
The striker then condemned the use of flares at the match, Celtic fan’s hypocritical pitch invasion and the fact some of their supporters tore up seats at the ground.
It’s also not the first time someone with a Rangers connection has been struck with a coin this season. Alfredo Morelos was also pelted with an object as he celebrated scoring against St. Mirren earlier in thr campaign.
There have been several coin throwing incidents throughout Scottish football this season which continue to blight the game. Well done Kris Boyd for calling the latest incident out.
