It has been a whirlwind couple of weeks for Jordan Jones.
The 24-year-old fulfilled a life-long ambition on 5th January, by agreeing to join Rangers.
His pre-contract arrangement was confirmed on the same day as Dundee midfielder, Glen Kamara.

However, Jones’ enthusiastic reaction to the pre-contract on Twitter, drew the ire of many Kilmarnock fans.
After a moment of naivety, he publicly apologised and faced intense scrutiny in the build up to Wednesday night’s game.

It must be said, that he responded excellently to that pressure, no matter how painful the result was for Rangers fans.
His fine solo goal earned Killie all three points.
What’s more, it showed he has the quality required to make it at Ibrox.

Jones has proved doubters wrong

Gers legend, Kris Boyd, was an unused substitute for the victors and addressed the subject of Jones on Talksport on Thursday morning.

“He’s earned himself a move. There was a little bit of stupidity when he sent out that tweet. But, I think you’ve got to take everything into context, you know.”
Furthermore, his next comments revealed the adversity Jones has went through to get to where he is now.
“Jordan Jones was told two and a half years ago that he wouldn’t have a career in professional football, when he was released from Middlesborough”, Boyd explained.

“He’s come up to Scotland, he’s done really, really well.”
When put like that, it really is a remarkable rise from the now Northern Ireland international.
His contribution was telling last night, and if he can find consistency he will be a hit with Rangers next season.
