The former striker was reporting on the big match for Sky Sports.

Rangers legend Kris Boyd certainly enjoyed reporting on Thursday’s victory over RB Leipzig in the Europa League, with his reactions going viral on social media.

In the two and a half minute long clip that was posted by Sky Sports, Boyd can be seen celebrating James Tavernier’s opening goal.

“I’ve just heard a shout, and I think I’ve heard it from Scotland itself!”

The camera then goes to a smirking Boyd who laughed.

“James Tavernier with another goal for Rangers!”

By far the funniest moment of all came when Glen Kamara scored, the presenter was still talking about the first goal, but Boyd’s eyes were glued firmly to the screen as clearly something big was happening before the former Scotland striker let out a roar and nearly jumped out of his seat as the second went in and Rangers took control of the tie.

As Joe Aribo missed a simple chance to score a third, he can be seen moaning and showing that it was a near miss in the hilarious clip.

He was in a more sombre mood as Christopher Nkunku brought the tie level on aggregate. He praised the Frenchman, saying that the goal proves why there are so many top-level clubs vying for his signature this summer.

As the tie was heading for extra time, we are told that there has been another goal at Ibrox, at which point the camera goes to Boyd who simply screams,

“BIG JOHN.”

Lundstram’s goal was the one that settled the tie as Rangers won 3-1 on the night and 3-2 on aggregate, setting up a tantalising final in Seville on the 18th of May.

Let’s hope Boyd will be smiling again come then.
