Kilmarnock have slapped a £3m pricetag on in-demand full-back Greg Taylor as Celtic prepare to launch a bid.
Rangers’ own toils at left-back have been well documented and for many Taylor is a smart solution to the ongoing challenges in the berth.
But should Rangers make any interest legitimate, they’ll have to do it quick. According to the Daily Record Celtic will launch a bid in the next 48 hours.
However, the same report claims that Celtic will offer Killie £1m and one of their players on loan in a bid which is a third of Kilmarnock’s asking price.
The report also claims that Taylor – who is a boyhood Rangers fan [Daily Record] – is “keen” on the move.
Celtic have also had much publicised issues at left full-back after the sale of Kieran Tierney to Arsenal.
Rangers – currently employing Jon Flanagan in the position – have been left incredibly disappointed with the attitude and application of Borna Barisic.
The Croatian international is the only natural left-back at the club but due to his poor performances finds himself third choice.
Even Andy Halliday – a conventional midfielder – finds himself in front of Barisic.
Whilst there is absolutely no official suggestion Rangers are interested in Taylor, for many he is seen as a solution to our lack of consistency in the position.
