Kevin Thomson has been less than pleased by what he has seen from Rangers goalkeeper Jack Butland.
The Englishman has been the number one for the Ibrox outfit this season and has endured some difficult games, especially under the stewardship of Russell Martin.
With Danny Rohl in charge, things have improved on the defensive side of things, with Butland keeping a total of 11 clean sheets in 25 league matches this term.

Kevin Thomson slams Jack Butland for his blunders
Thomson has slammed Butland for making a few blunders this season that have cost the Gers crucial points en route to their title charge.
While Rangers are very much in the running to win the SPFL title, there have been a few individual moments from the Englishman which Thomson feels he could have done better.

However, despite that, he is of the view that the 32-year-old has been the catalyst for this side.
He believes that if the Light Blues players have to vote for the Player of the Year today, they would vote for the goalkeeper.
Thomson told The Breakdown Podcast: “Jack’s had a couple of blunders, but he has been the catalyst for Rangers. If the players pick the Player of the Year now, where we are in the current season, I think a lot of the Rangers players would pick Jack Butland.”

What does the future hold for Butland at Rangers?
Butland moved to Ibrox in 2023 and has been a first-team regular since then.
There was a brief spell in which he was dropped for Liam Kelly, but he showed tremendous courage and determination to fight for his place and regain a spot in the playing eleven.
The 32-year-old has another season left on his deal at Rangers, and thus far, is showing no inclinations of wanting to leave.
He most certainly would want to be part of a title-winning side and this campaign represents his best chance to date to make that happen.
Talks about his future are unlikely to take place in the coming months, but could be brought up in the first few months of next season.
The club undoubtedly plan to get Mason Munn to eventually be the first-team keeper and if they feel he is not ready to do that in the 2027/28 season, Butland may be given a one-year contract at the end of his current deal.
