A report in the Scottish Sun, suggests that Kevin Thomson is set to become Rangers’ new U18 coach.
As a player, Thomson spent three years at the club between 2007 and 2010.
The midfielder also had three spells at Hibs, one at Dundee, and a foray south of the border to Middlesborough.

His also earned three Scotland caps during his time at Ibrox.
After hanging up his boots in 2016, he quickly transitioned into coaching, offering private sessions through his own academy.
He rejoined Rangers last year as an Academy coach, splitting his time between the club’s U13s and 15s.

Clearly, this report suggests Thomson has impressed enough to be handed considerable responsibility.
Rangers have been pushing to improve their youth system for the last number of seasons and recently announced a significant increase in funding.
The hard work is clearly paying off, particularly in forward areas. Bright young talents such as Zak Rudden, Ryan Hardie and Andy Dallas have come right through, or spent time in, the Rangers youth system.

Not long out of the game himself, if confirmed in this role, Thomson will hope to bring yet more success to the Academy in the years ahead.
This one is all but confirmed, based on Thommo’s latest tweet via his Academy’s Twitter handle..
