Ex-Rangers star Kevin Thomson has slaughtered a Celtic fan on Twitter for making false claims about the midfielder’s career record against Celtic.
The former Ibrox midfielder was a stalwart against the Parkhead side and his tough-tackling, combative and composed style made him perfect for the Old Firm derby.

Speaking ahead of the Scottish Cup clash at Hampden, Kevin Thomson was responding to one Celtic fan on Twitter who’d been trying to talk down his record against the Parkhead side.
This came after Kevin Thomson had claimed that Rangers need to find a way to “rough up” Celtic as they look to overcome them in the Scottish Cup semi-final.
“Cliche or not, they need to dig deep, they need to rough them up,” said Thomson.
“They are not an overly big team Celtic. They are a very technical and fast, nimble team.
“You need to play to your strengths. I’m not so sure Rangers have the make up in their team to go to toe-to-toe and really bully Celtic, so Mick is going to have to have wee cute bits to try and exploit different things.”
Kevin Thomson nails Celtic fan ahead of Rangers clash
In response to the comments, one Twitter user had claimed that Kevin Thomson had only managed five wins against Celtic in his entire career but this is patently not the case.
The quick-witted former Ger responded by claiming that he’d won six games out of seven in Old Firm derbies and also scored a winner for Hibs in a victory earlier in his career.
“How many against Celtic mate?” Kevin Thomson said.
“How many loses or you taking dundee and hibs into the equations!? Think you look at Old Firm firms you might get a slightly different more favourable answer.
“And you can take trophies in as well the three-and-a-half years I was there!
“Think you’ll find that’s not true!
“Old firms won 6 of them, also scored a winner in the 1-0 game at Ibrox!!
“1-0 4-2 1-0 1-0 3-0 and 2-0 and a 2-1 defeat. Also knocked Celtic out the cup at Easter road for hibs, scored the winner, 2-1 so already that’s a few more than five.”
Rangers are preparing to face Celtic at Hampden and to be fair to Kevin Thomson, if anyone knows about how to beat the Parkhead club, it’s him.
