After drawing at Tynecastle on matchday one, losing against Celtic at Parkhead and falling to defeat att Rugby Park, Philippe Clement will have no arguments if Rangers don’t come back from Pittodrie with a win and he is asked to pack his bags.
The manager is up against it and needs all the help he can get as he takes his bruised and battered squad up to face high-flying Aberdeen in the biggest game between the two sides for some time.
Jimmy Thelin has hit the ground running since taking over the Dons, but could be without a player who has caused Rangers plenty of problems in the past.

Kevin Nisbet an injury doubt for Rangers clash with Aberdeen
Kevin Nisbet was once a target for Rangers, only to become a thorn in their side on several occasions, however, according to Thelin, the former Hibs striker is touch and go for the second v third place encounter.
When asked for an update by the Press and Journal on Nisbet, who missed his side’s 1-0 win over Dundee United, he said:
“Hopefully he is back quite soon.
“It is small issues.
“Let’s see how he will answer to the treatment this week and we will see on Wednesday.”

Clement has his own issues as Rangers injury list lengthens
Clement doesn’t have his problems to seek in terms of injuries either with his current list a lengthy one.
At the last count, Danilo, Rabbi Matondo, Ridvan Yilmaz, Oscar Cortes, Tom Lawrence and John Souttar are all either still under treatment or have not been back in training long enough.

Speaking after the 2-1 win over St Mirren, Clement explained why experienced pair Souttar and Lawrence had been added to the list:
“He couldn’t (play) today,” said Clement when asked about Souttar specifically.
“So medical staff and performance staff were really clear about that, that if we put him on the pitch it was a big risk for an injury. So that’s why I didn’t do it.
“(We) will see (if Souttar will be available against Aberdeen) in the next few days.”
As for Lawrence:
“I don’t know, to be honest.”
Aberdeen will be weaker without Nisbet, but so will Rangers if Clement doesn’t have two players who have been near ever presents in the squad this season.
Not that he will be forgiven if anything other than three points is secured.
