Rangers have confirmed that Colombian striker Juan Alegria has return to FC Honka.

The Gers struck a deal to sign the now 20-year-old striker from the Finnish outfit.

But the attacker has failed to make a proper impact at Rangers and is now heading back to the club he first moved to in Europe.

The Colombian striker has also just been recalled from a loan move at League One Falkirk, with the switch to FC Honka a chance for the player to reignite his career.

“Rangers can today confirm that Juan Alegria has joined FC Honka on a permanent transfer for an undisclosed fee,” reads a Gers statement.

“We wish Juan all the best for the future.”

Juan Alegria leaves Rangers for FC Honka

Juan Alegria never made a top team appearance for Rangers and had two loan stints before leaving Scotland.

The striker spent time on loan at Patrick Thistle last season before his stint with Falkirk this campaign.

Alegria made 19 appearances for the Bairns, scoring six goals.

Interestingly, Juan Alegria might not be the only Colombian to leave Rangers in the coming months.

Countryman Alfredo Morelos is out of contract come the end of the season and there is plenty speculation surrounding his future.

Interestingly, El Bufalo also came to Scotland via Finland with Rangers signing the striker from HJK Helsinki in 2017.

However, Morelos has been a much greater success at Ibrox, scoring 122 goals over his six seasons in Glasgow.

Rangers fans will now follow the career of Juan Alegria closely as the striker returns to Finland.

A former Colombia youth international, the forward will be hoping to get his career back on trick with a return to Finland the chance to get back amongst the goals.
