A leading Scottish journalist has named the Serie A club which reportedly had a meagre loan bid rejected for Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos.
The Athletic’s Rangers correspondent Jordan Campbell had previously taken to Twitter to reveal that an unnamed Italian club had a £1.8m (€2m) loan bid with an option to buy thrown out over the weekend.
Rangers rejected a loan offer from a Serie A side for Alfredo Morelos over the weekend, @TheAthleticUK understands.
The loan fee is believed to have been less than €2m and came within an option to buy, but that was also less than what Lille had offered.https://t.co/QJT9rXdb3j

Campbell claimed that the side’s option to buy proposal was for a fee lower than the £14m they allege Lille bid for the striker.
The Athletic had also earlier broke the news that there was “no prospects” of Alfie leaving on deadline day after Lille pulled out of a move due to strict FFP regulations.
Now, Scottish Daily Mail chief football writer Stephen McGowan has claimed that it was Serie A side Torino who had the bid rejected.

But now it’s looking increasingly likely the 24-year-old will remain at Ibrox once the deadline passes this evening.
