John Terry has praised Steven Gerrard for his impact at Rangers, as quoted by the Scottish Herald.
Terry played alongside the Gers manager with England, while the two were big rivals at club level. Then playing with Chelsea and Liverpool respectively, both players won the Champions League.

The former Chelsea skipper has recently entered coaching himself and served as Dean Smith’s assistant during Aston Villa’s successful 2019/19 promotion push.
He’s full of admiration for what Gerrard has done, and likes the look of the current squad. The 38-year-old observed some of the Gers’ pre-season training in the Algarve last week.
“He has been used to winning things so that will be his target, for sure,” said Terry of Gerrard, as
“You can see in the group that they have got that there is quality there and they are closing the gap on Celtic. That was a big job in itself and I think he done that last year.
“What he has done, for me, is make people down south talk about Rangers. For the last few years, everyone has been speaking about Celtic. But Stevie has brought that glamour to the football club again, which I think it deserves. It is a huge club.
“You can see that [the balance of power is shifting]. Listen, Celtic are still a top side and the points difference showed that as well but what Rangers did last season, from the games that I saw, is close that gap, for sure. It will be interesting to see what happens this year.”

This constitutes yet more praise for the work Steven Gerrard has done so far with Rangers.
However, the pressure ramps up this season. No trophies in the manager’s first term wasn’t a disaster with the club and first team squad in transition.
Now, though, after benefitting from three transfer windows, there can be no excuses. Success has to be around the corner.
