John Terry has spoken about Rangers pair James Tavernier and Alfredo Morelos, as quoted by the Daily Record.
However, the Aston Villa assistant manager didn’t give much away.

James Tavernier has been linked with a summer move to the Premier League newcomers. The Scottish Sun reported last month that Villa are ‘prepared to spend big’ on the Gers skipper.
Meanwhile, various clubs have been linked with Alfredo Morelos, with the striker apparently eyeing a switch to the English top flight [
“I’ve seen quite a bit of Tavernier and Morelos,” said Terry, as quoted by the Daily Record. “But for them to go and be first-team regulars at Premier League level would probably be a jump.”
“In the long run I’m sure they could do it just like John (McGinn) has – he’s shown how good he is and cemented a place.
“So I’m sure if they got the opportunity they’d show how good they are.”

Verdict
Terry didn’t really say a whole lot there. He doesn’t laud either player, but he doesn’t write them off either.
Perhaps he’s intentionally being coy, considering his club’s reported interest in Tavernier.
From a Rangers point of view, it’s absolutely vital they hold onto their captain. Tav lead by example with an outstanding season, improving defensively, netting regularly from the spot and registering an incredible 14 league assists.
It’s also important that if no suitable replacement is lined up, the club retains Alfredo Morelos for another season. His disciplinary issues make him unreliable, but it’s hard to argue with a 30-goal haul from 2018/19.
