Philippe Clement has confirmed that four Rangers players will miss the clash with St Mirren due to injury.
Rangers have been without Leon Balogun, Dujon Sterling and Connor Barron for the last few weeks with all three players to miss the visit of Saints.
But Rangers have also been dealt a blow by the news that John Souttar will miss the clash against St Mirren at Ibrox.
Philippe Clement confirms John Souttar injury blow
The Rangers defender has only just returned to the team after picking up a more serious injury in December.
However Philippe Clement insists that Souttar’s latest injury is not ‘long-term’ even if he will miss the clash with St Mirren
“John Souttar injured himself during the Hearts game,” said Clement.
”That’s why I had to take him off. It’s not a long-term injury but he will be out for the game.“
Philippe Clement also expects all four first-team players who are currently sidelined at Rangers to be back in training by the end of next week.
The only other player currently sidelined, Neraysho Kasanwirjo, is not expected to play again this season.
”So we have Leon Balogun out, Dujon Sterling out and Connor Barron, those four (including John Souttar) and Nana for the longer term,” said Clement.
”So from those four I expect a few of them at the end of next week to be back in training.”
Rangers boosted as duo return to training
Despite the John Souttar injury blow, Rangers have been boosted by the return of two players to first team training.
Both Danilo and Oscar Cortes have seen their Ibrox careers badly impacted by injury problems and have once again had troubles this season.
Rangers shelled out a combined £10m to bring both South American stars to the club, with Danilo joining in a £6m deal from Feyenoord in 2023 and the club signing a £4m loan-to-buy deal for Cortes in the summer.
But Philippe Clement has confirmed that Danilo is back in the selection for Rangers whilst Oscar Cortes is back in training but building up his fitness.

”On the positive side Danilo, I told you guys that he was training the last week,” said Clement.
”This week also. So he will be in the selection because he’s back on track.
”Oscar Cortes trained the last days with the group but he still has a way to go after being a long time out.”
