John Lundstram is a player that still divides opinion amongst the Rangers support.
From one who seemed certain to be sold after just six-months at the club, to being a fans favourite and one that fans think is no longer good enough in just a couple of seasons.
What John Lundstram is though, is a key component of Rangers leadership group, although a recent post on RTV suggests that the scouser prefers the quiet life.
Lundstram has skippered the Light Blues on the rare occasions that both Connor Goldson and James Tavernier are off the pitch.
This doesn’t happen by accident.
What is John Lundstram’s Rangers future?
Michael Beale clearly thinks highly of the 29-year old and he could yet have a big part to play this season, despite the influx of midfielders.
He’s also a bit of a “character”.
The “bit childish init?” video from training last season now has an update.
Asked by the RTV media team if he has anyone famous on his contacts list, he replied with:
“Just a quiet guy, me lad, I don’t know anyone,” as if being interrogated by the police.
The gaffer has hinted that both John Lundstram and another much-maligned member of the Rangers squad, Borna Barisic, could be set for new contracts.

They both played regularly when Michael Beale returned to Ibrox and, in fairness, both saw an upturn in form too.
John Lundstram, with Todd Cantwell and Nicolas Raskin alongside him, looked much more comfortable and was pivotal in the 3-0 win over Celtic.
A good start to the campaign and, who knows, Belinda Carlisle might be getting belted out by the Light Blue’s support once again for the “quiet lad”.
