Joe Worrall met with odd questions in Rangers Twitter post

Joe Worrall’s relationship with the supporters isn’t the best, and fans have therefore been criticising the centre-back on Twitter.

Rangers put up an official post regarding a feature segment on Rangers TV. The club subsequently stated that Worrall will be on their “On the Spot” segment this week, and offered fans the chance to send in questions.

The segment will be released to supporters later this week, but fans were quick to bite. Worrall has yet to cement himself at Ibrox this season, and recently brushed off hope of staying at Ibrox beyond his loan deal.

And the Englishman will have been surprised if he read some of the responses on the club’s Twitter. Below, we highlight some of the typical questions Rangers were receiving from supporters.

Could’ve been worse

Considering the struggles Worrall has had to go through this season, those responses could’ve been worse. The centre-back hasn’t made much of an impression, with continuously shaky performances not making supporters take to him.

Steven Gerrard, however, appears to be trying to stick with the England Under-21 international. The problem is, however, there appear to be better defenders already at the club.

Nikola Katic has more of a case to be starting in front of Worrall given his start to the season. Gareth McAuley, meanwhile, has done it all as a centre-back and is coming to full-fitness. Therefore, the Englishman could struggle to get back into the side.

Worrall’s relationship with the Gers supporters wasn’t helped by a recent interview he carried out. The defender seemed to hint that he wasn’t interested in staying at Ibrox beyond the end of the season. Given the poor start he was having to his Rangers career, this lack of commitment at the time perhaps wasn’t the best move.

Regardless, he still has the backing of the manager and will be given more chances this season. The club will therefore be thankful that supporters weren’t more ruthless in their questions than they could’ve been.
