Former Rangers Assistant Manager Jimmy Nicholl has expressed his frustrations at a mystery player with a stinking attitude during his time at the club.
Whilst the player remains unnamed, the ex-Rangers and Northern Ireland player seemed upset at the altercation.
Speaking on Rocksport radio, Nicholl revealed the worrying story. He spoke of a player who was “wasting his ability” and who didn’t apply himself in training. Listen below.

It’s damning stuff from Nicholl. The whole “speak to my agent” stuff is enough to enrage even the most liberal of football supporter. This is Glasgow Rangers, no player is bigger than the club and you come here to work for the team and its fans.
The comments have obviously sparked debate on who Jimmy Nicholl was talking about. The first name that sprung to many fans minds, was Josh Windass.
The attacking midfielder left for Wigan in the Summer, citing the fact Rangers accepted a “low bid” of £2.5m as one of the reasons for leaving. Windass was quick on Twitter to claim it wasn’t him.

So, who was it?

It’s difficult to say without any knowledge of what things were like at Rangers at the time. But there are a couple of potential culprits. The eccentric Jason Cummings is one. The St. Johnstone bound Michael O’Halloran is another.
Could it have even been Alfredo Morelos? He suffered a huge dip in the second half of last season.

It couldn’t have been troubled Carlos Pena. Nicholl says in the clip that he had observed the player for four weeks. Jimmy Nicholl joined Rangers on January 4th, Pena left for Cruz Azul on the 8
th.
Whoever it was, more than anything Jimmy Nicholl just sounds frustrated with their attitude. Rangers were plunged into chaos during Nicholl’s time at the club, even if he did help to steady the ship for a little while. He was Assistant to Graeme Murty in the latter half of last season.
But things seem to be going in the right direction under Steven Gerrard.
