Rangers striker Jermain Defoe has been talking up his relationship with Ibrox stalwart and legendary kitman Jimmy Bell as he discusses how much he’s loving it at Rangers.

The Ibrox icon was talking to Peter Crouch as part of his former strike partner’s new Amazon Prime show Back of the Net [Episode 10].

The Rangers striker was on to reminisce about the good times playing alongside the big striker, but he couldn’t resist talking up his “love” of Jimmy Bell and all things Rangers, even if he couldn’t understand what the kit man was saying when he first joined.

“I love it [Rangers]. It is an amazing place to play football,” said Defoe.

“Just everything about the place like the women in the canteen that have been there for like 35 years.

“The kitman Jimmy. When I first got here, he talked to me and I didn’t know what he was saying.

“He was talking to me, I was like ‘Jimmy, seriously, you need to slow down mate. I can’t understand what you’re saying.’

“But I love him, he’s brilliant.

“It’s something special, I’m just taking it all in. I love it.”

Jermain Defoe appears to have reignited his love for the beautiful game up north and he cannot stop scoring with his 10 Scottish Premiership goals seeing him lead the nation’s domestic scoring charts.

Averaging a goal every 45 minutes, he’s been ranked amongst the deadliest strikers in Europe this season.

It’s a far cry from being let down by one of the globe’s biggest popstars on his jaunt to Toronto back in 2014.
