Rangers and Thursday nights tends to be a combination that goes well together and a trip to Old Trafford to face Man Utd certainly whets the appetite.
It might not be the Battle of Britain as it once was, however, Philippe Clement will relish the chance to prove that he is a manager who can compete with the best once again.
There are a few issues in the squad in terms of availability, not that James Tavernier is worried about leading Rangers out against the fallen English giants.

Currently 13th in the Premier League, Man Utd are a shadow of their former selves with the Gers captain looking to take full advantage:
“You’ve got to fancy yourself against anybody,” Tavernier told Ally McCoist and Jeff Stelling on the Talksport breakfast show.
“Obviously, they’re going through a difficult patch at the minute so, we’re going to work on how we believe what they’re setting themselves out to do against us, work really hard over the next couple of days and put that game plan into the game.
“And, hopefully, we can get that win.”

One thing that Clement has shown in his time as Rangers boss, is that he can set up a team in Europe.
Domestic form at Ibrox is near perfect, but the abysmal away form needs a lot of work if he is to keep his job.
What will help his cause is if he can land a place in the top eight of the Europa League and secure automatic progression to the last 16.
The difference between finish 1-8 or 9-16 might not be a lot for a club like Man Utd, however, for Rangers, it would almost cover the transfer fee of Connor Barron and Lyall Cameron combined.
