Rangers loanee Jake Hastie remained on the bench last night for Partick Thistle as they beat Dunfermline 1-0 in the Scottish Cup third round.
Hastie joined the Ibrox side in the summer of 2019 having impressed at Motherwell. Early promise soon faded however as he was loaned to Rotherham and then back to Motherwell.

He failed to sustain a proper run of form at both clubs and the last chance saloon beckoned when he joined Partick Thistle on loan in the summer. Dropping down a level should have been the ideal move for the player.
The loan is turning into a nightmare, though, as Hastie has yet to start a match for the Jags, who are unbeaten in their last eight.
His last substitute appearance came in a 0-0 draw with Inverness Caley Thistle at the end of October and his chances of achieving something from the stint seem to be fading with every passing match.
It’s a shame as the 22-year-old came to Ibrox with considerable talent and even though he might not have featured regularly for the first team straight away, training with the squad would have aided his development.
He’s set to return to Ibrox in January and there’s now a new manager in place in Giovanni van Bronckhorst, who has already stated that he’s willing to give all players a chance regardless of age.

However, unless he dazzles the Dutchman right away, it’s hard to see a long-term future for him at the club.
Meanwhile, ahead of the Livingston match, van Bronckhorst has confirmed a double injury blow.
