Last week, we reported on the horror statistical run being endured by Rangers player Jak Alnwick.
The goalkeeper is currently on loan at Scunthorpe United, where he had failed to keep a clean sheet in 16 matches in all competitions.
That’s a run stretching from September to Christmas.

However, it seems that finally, his own and the fortunes of his adopted side, have changed.
In their last two matches in League One they have picked up six valuable points.
What’s more, Alnwick has ended his own horror run, keeping consecutive clean sheets.
On Saturday, they defeated Wycombe 1-0 at home, before backing that up with a 2-0 win at Peterborough on New Years Day.

Against Wycombe, Alnwick was a big factor, pulling off five saves to protect his side’s slender advantage.
At high-flying Peterborough, he was more of a spectator. The hosts had 62% possession and mustered 14 shots, but none of them were on target.
It was a rare quiet day at the office for a player who has suffered behind a shoddy defence all season.

Initially, the 25-year-old’s loan deal was due to expire in January. Yet, with no official word on his return to Rangers, his stay could still be extended.
Even if these were his last appearances, at least he finally stopped the rot and secured two pride-restoring clean sheets.
