As if Rangers fans couldn’t love Ryan Jack anymore, the talented midfielder bosses the middle of the pitch against Hearts before snarling in Ibrox villain Steven Naismith’s face.
It’s an image that sums up just how on-side he is with the Rangers faithful right now, and the confidence which is clearly pumping through his veins.
Ryan Jack seems to always make the right decision in the blue of Rangers, and for me, there’s little doubt that he is the form midfielder in Scotland at the moment.
We saw against Hearts at Tynecastle just how big a void is left on the pitch when the 27-year-old doesn’t play for Rangers.
All season long Ryan Jack has put in these dominant, positive displays from midfield, proving the heartbeat of the team and personifying Steven Gerrard’s hard-working, technically astute, fiery style.
We can leave the Scotland discussion for another day (Jack plays in probably the nation’s most competitive position) but what is the international side’s loss is Rangers’ gain.
He is proving an intimidating presence for Rangers in the middle of the park and seems to be getting better and standing out more game-by-game.
It’s no wonder Rangers delighted fans by tying him down on a new contract [Rangers]. He’ll be a fixture of this Rangers side for years to come.
The naysayers will point to the impressive form of 12-goal Ryan Christie, who is perhaps the only midfielder who can lay claim to Jack’s title of Scotland’s midfield man of the moment.
But when you consider what Jack offers across the pitch, how often he turns up in those big games and just how central he is to making Rangers tick, the argument is that Jack is more valuable to Rangers than Christie is to Celtic.
And the Gers fans love him for it.
