Rangers’ transfer window might be turning the heads of the Ibrox support, but it appears to have grabbed people’s attention across the city too.
Neil Lennon has been speaking unconvincingly about Rangers’ recent transfer business.
Whilst rival staff and fans are usually quick to keep their cards close to their chest, the Celtic boss’ comments on the Ibrox club’s summer business suggests he’s running scared of Rangers.
Or at least that he’s very aware of the progress we’re making.

“I can’t affect what Rangers do,” said Lennon, as quoted by the Daily Record.
“It’s not one of those situations where if they spend £4m then we want to spend £8m. It’s not like that.

“We have to focus on ourselves. You can’t affect what’s going on elsewhere. You can’t – and we won’t.
“Are we in the same market for players? We might be but that creates its own issues. Sometimes agents play one against another and I don’t want to get involved in any of that nonsense either.”
Stopping short of praising Rangers’ very promising transfer business in this window, the Celtic boss seems to glumly accept the progress we’ve made.

The Celtic manager is also clearly frustrated at the lack of progress being made on their own squad, which remains in need of investment in key positions.
Whilst Lennon is adamant that Celtic can’t focus on Rangers, you get the feeling they can’t help it.
