Graeme Souness sometimes gets a bad rep when it comes to his image as a player with the former Rangers manager known for being one who would never shirk a tackle.
The ex Gers gaffer was also known not to take any nonsense as a boss as players like Ally McCoist, Ian Durrant, Derek Ferguson, Terry Butcher and Graham Roberts found out, especially the latter two.
Never one to back down from a fight, Alan Shearer has recalled on the Match of the Day Top Ten podcast, when teammates Keiron Dyer and Lee Bowyer once went toe to toe with Graeme Souness showing that he had lost none of fire from his Rangers days.

Graeme Souness shows Rangers character in Newcastle bust up
The Dyer and Bowyer punch up is a rarity in modern football and Shearer explains why the Newcastle United pair kicked off.
Not only that, but the former Toon skipper explains the role that Graeme Souness had in the fracas and why, despite his advancing years, the former Ibrox midfield enforcer was not to be messed with.
“I remember getting back into the dressing room and I’m captain and, as you can imagine, I’ve just come in and said ‘You pair of (expletive deleted) idiots!’.
“Then Souey walked in, you know Graeme Souness.
“So, Souey’s come in and things were going all over the place, chucking stuff and he was effing and blinding and Souey said ‘You pair of (expletive deleted), I’ll fight the both of you now!’
“‘I’ll fight both of you now! Go on two of you, I’ll have you and I’ll have you, together!'”
It’s not even a surprise.
What would be more surprising would be if anyone took Souness up on the offer, his reputation precedes him, just look at Gary Lineker’s reaction when Shearer says who the manager was at the time of the incident.
There’s always more than one way to solve any conflict but there was only ever going to be one way that Souness solved this one, and there was only ever going to be one winner.
