Injuries are set to keep Rangers quartet Todd Cantwell, Kieran Dowell, Danilo and Steven Davis out of action for an extended period.

The Ibrox support are still traumatised by a devastating run of injuries last season which saw the majority of the squad affected at different points of the campaign.

Bringing back former club doctor Mark Waller to a director role appeared to be having a major impact on the club as Rangers edged closer to their full complement this season.

But as the likes of Ben Davies, Ridvan Yilmaz, Tom Lawrence and Kemar Roofe returned to action for Rangers against St Johnstone, the latest run of injuries is gathering momentum in the background.

List of Rangers injuries beginning to grow again

The situation around Ibrox veteran Steven Davis continues to have an air of uncertainty as the veteran Hall of Famer recovers from a devastating cruciate ligament injury.

With Northern Ireland also feeling the pain of the former Ibrox skipper’s absences, as things stand Michael Beale has suggested the club will take a decision on the 38-year-old in January.

Heading into the match with St Johnstone, Michael Beale also claimed that Rangers duo Todd Cantwell and Kieran Dowell are set to face up to a month on the sidelines.

Todd Cantwell was spotted on crutches after the defeat to Celtic and before the match Beale claimed the ex-Norwich star is set for “three or four weeks” on the sidelines.

Similarly, former Canaries teammate Kieran Dowell, who hasn’t been seen since late on in the Champions League playoff draw with PSV at Ibrox, will be out for around the same time period.

Encouragingly, Beale revealed the midfielder is back out “jogging” and by that alone appears to put him ahead of Cantwell in his recovery.

Finally, Brazilian striker Danilo is the latest name who is set to face an extended spell on the sidelines due to injury.

Despite scoring the opening goal in the 2-0 victory over St Johnstone, a clash with Saints defender Liam Gordon left the summer signing from Feyenoord with a fractured cheekbone.

Whilst Michael Beale couldn’t confirm the scale of the problem, Danilo is expected to join Steven Davis, Todd Cantwell and Kieran Dowell on a growing list of Rangers injuries.
