Nnamdi Ofoborh was ‘unable to travel’ to Wycombe’s final EFL Championship clash of the season due to injury and now won’t have another opportunity to play until he joins up with Rangers for pre-season.
Bournemouth midfielder Ofoborh signed a pre-contract agreement with the Gers during the winter transfer window before heading to Adams Park for a second loan stint at Wycombe.
He made three consecutive starts following the switch but has had a frustrating time since then.
The Nigeria youth cap was dropped by manager Gareth Ainsworth, only making five substitute appearances in the following nine matches.

Ofoborh then dropped out of the squad completely.
His loan club have released very little information on his situation, but in mid-April, it was stated that he was out of contention due to an injury of some kind and ahead of the Chairboys’ final fixture at Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon, they confirmed that he had been ‘unable to travel’ with the squad.
Wycombe won the game 3-0 but were still relegated back to League One on what was a dramatic final day.
With their fixtures now completed, it’s likely that Ofoborh will soon head back to Bournemouth and after a short break, he’ll make the switch to Glasgow, where he has a four-year contract waiting for him.
Steven Gerrard clearly sees plenty in the 21-year-old, but his 2021 hasn’t gone to plan so far and it remains to be seen whether or not he will be able to challenge for a spot in the Rangers team next season.
In other news, Rangers U18s defeated a rival Premiership club in a five-goal thriller on Friday night.
