NK Osijek winger Petar Bockaj has been sensationally sacked by the Croatian outfit.
The club didn’t reveal the true extent of what happened with Bockaj but did say whatever Bockaj done was “life-threatening”.
The Croatian First League side released a statement on their website confirming the news. Is his availability something that might interest Rangers?

This message loosely translates as:
“Last night, the incident in which she was subjected to great material damage and life-threatening people by the influence of alcohol at night, concluded her career as the first of our club.”
The statement goes on to say Bockaj has been released for “a violation of a professional contract”.
Osijek then say the incident caused a great deal of material damage in the night, as well as injuries to some people. They again describe it as “life-threatening”.
Petar Bockaj was very impressive against Rangers over the two Europa League Qualifying legs when the Gers played Osijek. A talented, direct winger, he would be a useful addition on the pitch.
But off it he appears to have issues which have overstepped the mark. Rangers will have perhaps learned their lesson from signing high-risk players after what happened with Carlos Pena. The club eventually released the Mexican from his contract.

There are also numerous legal issues which could arise from trying to secure the player. Not least from the side of NK Osijek.

Rangers signed two players from NK Osijek this season, Borna Barisic and Eros Grezda. Both haven’t quite settled fully yet but look like useful options for Gerrard’s side and are internationalists with Croatia and Albania respectively.
They have also had their season’s disrupted through injury.
