The decision to loan out Ianis Hagi has always looked like a strange one, every Rangers fan knows what he is capable of and he has proven to be a match winner in the past.
When he appeared unhappy in a press conference and almost bewildered at his lack of action, there are many who think that Michael Beale’s mind was made up.
Ironically, Ianis Hagi has left Rangers to play at a higher level, however, he has missed a golden opportunity to score his first La Liga goal, as shown by Viaplay Sport.

Ianis Hagi spared blushes but Rangers return should be on cards
In Alaves’ 1-0 win over Almeria, the Romanian international had the chance to give his side the lead from the penalty spot but things didn’t quite go according to plan.
When James Tavernier went through a sticky patch in 2019/20, Ianis Hagi stepped up for Rangers against Braga in the Europa League only to fail to find the back of net.
At the weekend, his miss was slightly more spectacular as he blazed an effort high, wide and not so handsome.
It’s not as easy as Tavernier makes it look – most of the time – it would seem.
Despite the set-back, Ianis Hagi has gradually grown into life after Rangers and produced a moment of skill that the La Liga X account saw fit to highlight, branding one moment of skill as “mucha clase” or “very classy” to you and I.
The 25-year old looks as fit and as sharp as he ever has since his anterior cruciate ligament injury and could well be in line for a January recall.
Watching Philippe Clement’s Rangers team suggests that a player like Hagi would be a valuable asset.
He has the aggression, the intent and the mentality that the new Gers boss is looking for his players and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him back – just don’t expect to see him on penalites.
