Philippe Clement said that it would take months for the real Rangers to click into place, unfortunately, it looks like it is too little too late.
Progress is never linear, and the manager will be a frustrated man, despite earning his first win over Celtic due to the recent dropped points in games that should really have been won.
One major difference between now and the beginning of the season, has been the introduction of the mercurial Ianis Hagi and Nicolas Raskin who were dominant for Rangers in an impressive Old Firm display.

Ianis Hagi and Nicolas Raskin impress in Rangers victory
Raskin earned the Rangers TV man of the match from Kevin Thomson, the former midfield enforcer who loved nothing better than the heat of a derby.
The Belgian was on hand to give his teammate the Sky Sports man of the match with the numbers showing just how impressive they were.
The midfield pair linked up for the opening goal with Raskin brushing aside Bernardo to set up Hagi.
Raskin then played a key role in the pivotal second goal, seeing his header saved by Kasper Schmeichel with the rebound being buried by Robin Propper.
There were six key passes between them as they set about dismantling Celtic’s defence with a frequency that hasn’t been seen for some time.
Why Nicolas Raskin is in no mood to celebrate
Despite his outstanding performance, Raskin was in no mood to rest on his laurels and pop open the champagne:
“No. At the end of the day it’s only three points and we have to repeat it in three days and then again after that,” said Raskin in the post-match press conference.
“But, this has been a really special day for me. My father [Thierry] hadn’t been in the stadium for a long time – I think this was only his second time, so it was great that he was here. I was really proud.
“The game was perfect, we all enjoyed it so much. It’s a day I’ll remember my whole life.”
With the dynamic duo at the heart of all things good, better times might well be around the corner for Rangers.
