It doesn’t take a genius to work out that the momentum has shifted in Rangers favour in the title race with Philippe Clement providing the foundations.
The Gers boss has overseen a nine-point swing since taking over at the end of October all whilst having to endure an injury list that is only just starting to ease.
Obviously, nothing is won yet, but Rangers will be looking to kick on with Philippe Clement only focusing on one game at a time, Graeme Souness agreeing that there has been a drastic change in the fight for the Scottish Premiership.

Rangers have the edge under Philippe Clement claims Souness
Celtic will still win more games than they lose and there will be set backs along the way, it won’t always be plain sailing but, Rangers have a consistency of performance and have several reasons to be more optimistic.
Clear cut chances are being created with greater regularity.
The defence is restricting teams from even having shots at goals, never mind chances to score.
There is a unity in the squad that means that, it doesn’t how many players are rotated, the message is the same and the performance levels don’t drop.
Celtic, on the other hand, despite having spent more money than the rest of the league put together over the last two transfer windows, are experimenting with different formations and combinations of personnel hoping that something sticks.
They are almost where we were in September and October with new signings all being written off.
Speaking on Talksport, Rangers legend Graeme Souness is positive of success for his old club but keeping his pwder dry:
“I think the momentum is with them.
“They have to play Celtic at home, I’ll say the exact same thing about the Scottish league as I did about the English one.
“There is a lot of football to be played.”
Souness is right, there are still an awful lot of games to be played, including two derbies plus the gap is only two points.
As we have seen with Celtic’s slump, is doesn’t take much to trip up when you think victory is already confirmed.
