Rangers manager Philippe Clement has noted what he saw from the Ibrox fans against Hibernian on Saturday.

Philippe Clement took his first game in charge of Rangers against Hibernian at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.

Rangers won the match 4-0.

Abdallah Sima scored two goals for the Gers.

Nicolas Raskin and Cyriel Dessers were also on target for Rangers.

Rangers were the better team over the course of the 90 minutes..

There is no doubt whatsoever about it.

The Gers had 53% of the possession and took 23 shots.

Eight of those shots were on target.

Four of them ended in goal.

Philippe Clement on Rangers fans during win vs Hibernian

After the match, new Rangers manager Philippe Clement said what he noticed about the fans that hugely encouraged him.

Clement said on BBC Sportsound: “I’m most happy that I saw synergy between players and the fans from the first minute.

“That is one of the biggest strengths of this club, one that we need to have to win trophies.”

Philippe Clement should target Scottish Premiership title with Rangers

In my opinion, Rangers manager Philippe Clement should aim to win the Scottish Premiership title this season.

Yes, Celtic are ahead now, but it is only October.

I believe that there is enough time for Rangers to catch Celtic.

Celtic will drop points.

And Rangers need to take advantage of that.

The Gers also need to win their games against Celtic.

That will be massive.

Rangers are second in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 18 points from nine matches.

Celtic are at the top with 22 points from eight games.

Rangers have one of the most loyal fans in the world, and I believe that the Ibrox faithful deserve to see a team who challenge for the title year after year.

Of course, it is not always possible to win the title season after season, but every fan will want Rangers to go close at least.

Philippe Clement needs to keep that in mind.
