The hypocrisy surrounding talk of Rangers’ celebrations in December this week is staggering.
Honestly, I had to read it twice as legions of ex-Celtic warhorses carted out nonsense about Rangers players hurting them by celebrating the win.
Let’s be honest here – Rangers celebrated with a higher class and dignity than our indulgent rivals did in September. Any notion otherwise is complete and utter twaddle.

Celtic did a lap of honour as the club essentially locked the 800 bears who’d made the journey to the Eastend in the stadium. It was tacky, distasteful and reeked of being bad winners. The only thing worse than being bad losers.
When Rangers won, we celebrated like it was our first Old Firm win at Ibrox in seven years. We celebrated like it meant something. And whilst we goaded a little, our focus was more on our own achievements.

To these types it is perfectly ok for Celtic to rub the faces of Rangers in the dirt. But should Rangers so much as think of giving a wry smile back when it goes our way, there’s some kind of moral outrage.
And whilst the hypocrisy of the entire thing is staggering, the fact these grown men took one little defeat with all the maturity of a spoiled child is embarrassing.
Let’s hope they’re still throwing their toys out the pram come 2 pm tomorrow.
