Ranger reports continue to bubble surrounding midfielder Hwang in-Beom but he’s not the only Korean international being linked to Ibrox.

The Olympiakos star was linked earlier in the season and if reports linking Rangers to Aris winger Luis Palma are to be believed, then Hwang in-Beom would’ve caught the eye in a recent Greek Super League clash.

Now, there are some reports claiming that Rangers do have official interest player and could launch a move come to the summer window.

But should Rangers make their interest legitimate, then it could be one two Korean players piquing the interest of Michael Beale with striker Cho Gue-sung also linked in the January window.

Old Firm rivals Celtic were also linked to the Korean international striker, who instead opted to stay with Jeonbuk with our Old Firm rivals moving elsewhere with the arrival of fellow Korean Oh Hyeon-gyu.

Hwang in-Beom and Cho gue-Sung linked to Rangers

Unlike Celtic, the Far East is not a market Rangers have ever shopped in, with our rivals having a squad of several Japanese internationals and having had a history of South Korean players.

If Rangers are to sign Hwang in-Boem or indeed Cho Gue-sung they would become the first players from this region to join the club.

Rangers manager Michael Beale has also been clear that the Gers want to make big investment this summer and speaking ahead of the clash with Celtic claimed that the squad will look very different next season.

“I have to tackle each game as it comes,” said Michael Beale.

“The three games [against Celtic] are going to be different. From no away fans to a 50-50 split at Hampden. That’s going to have a difference on everything.

“For us as a team, it’s been a long time since I came in. The last time we lost in the league was the first week in November.

“We’re now into April. It’s been a long time, 20 weeks of good form in the league.

“We just need to keep repeating it. I don’t care if we don’t get any praise from outside, I’ve got to see the progress inside.

“I’ll judge us on the next game, but listen I know this group is going to be completely different in 11 games’ time. But I can’t deal with pre-season until this season is done.”

Whether that will be done by signing the likes of Hwang in-Beom or Cho Gue-sung remains to be seen but Rangers fans will have a close eye on these reports heading into the window.
