The disappointment from the Premier Sports Cup final is still raw for Rangers but the B team has a chance to reap some sort of revenge over Celtic.

The Glasgow Cup final from last season was rescheduled due to fixture congestion issues but it gives the Ibrox outfit and Philippe Clement the chance to give some first team squad hopefuls a run out.

In an experienced starting XI there are two names in particular who Rangers fans will be intrigued to see.

Oscar Cortés and Rabbi Matondo in Rangers B team

Rabbi Matondo and Oscar Cortés have both been out since the early stages of the season, however, they both start against Celtic at The City Stadium.

Joining them are familiar academy talents like Mason Munn, Robbie Fraser, Leon King, Bailey Rice, Cole McKinnon, Paul Nsio and next big thing, Findlay Curtis.

Clinton Nsiala also lines up alongside King and he will be hoping to do enough to earn a promotion to the senior squad.

The game is live on RTV and Premier Sports with a 7pm kick off.

Findlay Curtis on trophy hunt amid first team clamour

Speaking before the game, Curtis was looking forward to the chance to win some silverware:

“It’s going to be a massive game and hopefully we go on and win silverware.

“We want to be very good in the game, so it’s about being confident in ourselves and hopefully going on to win the game.

“I want to keep on improving and developing my game, and hopefully I can do well tonight.

“You saw against Queen’s Park last week, it wasn’t meant to be, but hopefully we go on and win silverware tomorrow.

“I think it’s important to handle the emotions and, of course, it’s an Old Firm Derby. We need to be confident in ourselves.”

Curtis has been seen in first team training and a couple of match day squads with his goal scoring exploits seeing fans clamour for Clement to give him a chance.

A couple of goals against Celtic won’t do his odds any harm at all.
