James Tavernier was once again an inspirational figure, as Rangers cruised to three points against Dundee.
Yet, remarkably, despite it being updated last month, his Transfermarkt valuation sits at a measly £1.8 million.
That’s farcical.

After just eight minutes on Wednesday night, he had already added to both his goals and assists tallies for the season.
Firstly, he whipped in a set piece for Glen Kamara to finish with aplomb.
Secondly, he bombed up the pitch as Rangers launched an attack, before finding himself in the right place at the right time when Dieng parried Alfredo Morelos’ shot.
2-0 after less than ten minutes and two additions to an already league-leading number of direct goal involvements.

Of course, his goalscoring stats are inflated because he takes penalties.
Still, though, 11 goals and 11 assists is an incredible return. Especially, for a right-back.
What is he worth to Rangers?
Firstly, the Gers must do everything they can to keep him in the summer.
He would be extremely difficult to replace.
However, if a move becomes inevitable, Rangers should be looking for a significant fee.

His stats so far this campaign prove £1.8 million to be laughable.
Maybe shifting that decimal place over a place would be a good start?
£18 million is a hefty fee, but when you look at the current state of the market, far from unheard of.
One thing’s for sure, if the club are going to eventually part with their captain, it shouldn’t be on the cheap.
