Kevin Muscat is one of the managers linked with Rangers, and former Ibrox player and BBC Sport pundit Billy Dodds seems to like the idea of him taking charge of the Gers, saying that he could transform the club like Ange Postecoglou has changed Tottenham Hotspur.
According to The Rangers Review, Rangers have held talks with Kevin Muscat over taking over as the manager of the first team.
Rangers will reportedly hold more discussions with the 50-year-old in the coming days.
Muscat is in charge of Yokohama F. Marinos at the moment.
Kevin Muscat backed to be a success at Rangers
Former Rangers striker Billy Dodds played with Muscat at Ibrox, and the BBC Sport pundit believes that he could transform the Gers.
Dodds has noted the impact that Ange Postecoglou has made at Tottenham.
Postecoglou was very successful in his role as the Celtic manager and is now doing well at Tottenham.
Spurs are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment and are also playing wonderful football.
Dodds said on BBC Sport: “Following in Postecoglou’s footsteps is a hard one. I know a lot of people like taking jobs when clubs are at rock bottom but they weren’t under Ange, they were flying. He’s kept it going and that’s a particular positive.
“I’ve not spoken to Muscat for a few years, but I know his desire as a person, his will to win, and he’s a very good candidate, as is Philippe Clement.
“That’s why Rangers are taking their time to make a decision on what looks to be between the two of them.”

Dodds added: “Everybody doubted Postecoglou. It was a huge gamble but wow, look at his style.
“And the players he’s attracted to this country – like Kyogo [Furuhashi] and [Reo] Hatate – I don’t think would ever have been here if it wasn’t for Postecoglou.
“If Kevin Muscat can bring the type of player – because it’s opened up that market and you can see that with other clubs now – and bring the style Postecoglou has now taken from Celtic to Spurs, he’d be a very good choice.”
My View: Kevin Muscat has the credentials for Rangers job
I believe that Kevin Muscat has what it takes to take charge of Rangers and be successful in his role.
Muscat is a former Rangers player and knows the club inside out.
And, the 50-year-old also has managerial experience.
In my opinion, the former Australia international defender could be able to make an immediate impact at Rangers.
Because he is already in management right now, Muscat would be able to get straight into things and hit the ground running at Rangers.
